Topic: The Witcher 3

I just did a search looking for a Witcher 3 thread and amazingly there wasn’t one, lots of random threads like should I get Witcher or [insert name] and language pack threads but not a dedicated thread. Huh?

I've just seen on the eshop it's now priced £29.99, I think that's the lowest physical or digital it's ever been on the Switch. I'm tempted to buy it at the price but I've got a backlog and not enough memory space for it plus it's for a game I've played before.

Yeah how come there was never a thread for it? That's a bit weird.

Probably a good idea to sell it separately though. The base game is so huge that plenty of people will never even finish all of the story related content and sidequests it contains, so won't even get around to the DLC.

I still haven't got round to Blood and Wine. I'm waiting for the next-gen console update before I do another playthrough.

@Dezzy it seems quite expensive though putting the base game up for £30 considering its age.

@Mr-Fuggles777 I'm not saying it's right but that doesn't stop Nintendo. Mario Kart 8 came out before The Witcher 3 and is stil £50.

Well Nintendo don't generally lower digital prices over time anyway.

But in this case, the age of the original release is meaningless. You're paying for the luxury of having the game in handheld format.

@Dezzy you can get the game in handheld format from gamepass (it plays on my android phone) so that argument is now irrelevant and your just happy to get overcharged.

@jump, the Wii-U prices are also a bone of contention with me. Nintendo is one of the greediest publishers / platform holders around at the moment. It's even more frustrating because while people keep paying they have no incentive to reduce costs and every other Publisher is jumping on the bandwagonand adding a Switch Tax - I make sure to buy all the wii-U ports pre owned so Nintendo doesn't get a penny of my money for them a second time.

@Mr-Fuggles777 Playing a big game like Witcher on a phone sucks though.

@jump it's the exact same screen size as my switch but 1080 instead of 720.

Edit, just checked and my phone is actually 1440p not 1080p and is also larger than the screen on my Switch Lite.

TW3 still stands as my favorite game of the PS4/Xbone generation of platforms. Although the Switch port is the worst version, I'm grateful that the attempt was made at all. The same can't be said for several games that could or should be available on Switch...but aren't for one reason or another. I'd point to the cartridge format being too expensive as the main crux of the issue, but that didn't stop Doom Eternal from being a digital-only release...at the minimum.

My favourite game of all time and plays very well on Switch (I have put 170h on it)

I’ve put over 100 hours into this. I have the PC version as well. Started on that, then mostly continued to play on the Switch. Love hope I can boot it up very quick. Complete a few quests or discover locations and then put it right down if I have to. Very convenient!

It doesn’t look all that bad either.

Are they still planning to release DLC from the Witcher Netflix series?

Has anybody used cross-save in TW3? I started on the Switch a while ago and I just bought the game again on Steam since it was going for $8 (probably still is, btw). Thinking about starting over with cross-save so I can Witcher anywhere I wanna Witcher.

Yep, @JasmineDragon .... You have to sign into Steam in the game menu 1st time but it's easy enough
